The Tire Press Technician will be responsible for the proper dismounting, mounting, pressing, and repairing of tires on lift trucks and related equipment while ensuring the proper handling of customer’s equipment according to OSHA Standards, disposal of scrap tires and safe operation of customer and company vehicles. Complete and manage paperwork for each job. Provide exceptional customer service on job sites and while traveling in company vehicle
Job requirements may include the following where applicable:
- Proper and safe handling of customer equipment
- Complete mounting/dismounting of all tire types
- Safe pressing and reinstallation of all tire types
- Adhere to all company policy and procedures.
- Ensure workplace and company press truck stay clean
- Proper paperwork and recordkeeping
- Operate independently or as a team member as job requires
- Perform other duties as requested.
Preferred Skills /Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Prior knowledge of Material Handling and related equipment a plus
- Clear Background check and pre-employment drug screen (required)
- General mechanical aptitude
- Valid Driver's License (CDL a Plus) / Clean Driving Record
- Professionalism and diplomacy to approach others and manage emotional or ambiguous situations with clarity and self-control
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Tire Technician to successfully perform the essential functions of this job; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. May require sitting for long periods of time. The position requires travel and the ability to drive off company grounds to visit multiple potential locations, both internal and external to the company efforts. There is potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, chemicals, or solvents which require knowledge of proper safety procedures. Employee must have normal manual dexterity and be able to effectively manipulate keyboard and phone. Able to physically able to move/maneuver and move up to 75lbs. (on occasion), walk on concrete floors with the ability to use full range body motion for climbing, pushing, lifting, bending, squatting, crouching and reaching.
