And yet, you still need something because you can only unpack pallets and reshelve product for so long before your arms and back go on strike. Fortunately, there is a solution: The Toyota Walkie Stacker. In fact, Toyota has *three* options in the Stacker family: The Walkie Stacker, the Industrial Walkie Stacker and the Counter-balance Stacker.

What is a “Walkie Stacker”?

A Walkie Stacker Forklift, also known as a Straddle Stacker or Walk Behind Pallet Truck, is perfect for situations where travel distances are short, and you need to lift higher than the second level of shelving but need maximum maneuverability in tight quarters. As you look at the walkie stacker, it’s plain to see that it’s a blend between an electric pallet jack and a small forklift, cementing its intermediary role in your forklift fleet. The mast allows you to lift loads to a height of 12 feet on the standard and Industrial. Meanwhile, the Counter-Balance can reach heights of 15 feet.

They can handle capacities of up to 2,500 lbs with the standard stacker and 4,000 lbs. with the Industrial Stacker and Counter-Balance. The shorter mast means they perform well on the shipping and receiving docks and below a mezzanine. With their electric operation, these stackers are right at home in the beverage and food industries but also shine in manufacturing and some general warehouse applications as well.

Adjustable base legs are standard equipment on the standard and industrial stackers. This allows them to accommodate several different pallet sizes and aisle sizes down to 7 feet! Meanwhile, the Counter-balanced Stacker, ditches the base legs for a weighted back end like a traditional forklift. While this increases the needed aisle width to 9 feet, it eliminates the load width constraints of its siblings.

All Toyota Stackers utilize a 24-volt electrical system powering Toyota’s own AC motor. They also use the same High-Visibility Mast featured on all Toyota Forklifts. It’s designed to provide operators with an increased visual area that improves efficiency and safety. The handles are curved and the buttons are ergonomically laid out for operator comfort and ease of use. For added safety, each is equipped with an electric horn as well as an emergency power disconnect switch, not to mention Toyota’s signature orange paintjob.
